Pub Quiz for Kenya!

6 02 2008

Yesterday we it was the day of the event.

We organised a Pub Quiz to raise money for a foundation in Kenya, which supports kids in slums.

The evening was quite succesfull and we were able to raise over £250,-
Which we will deposit to their account.

We had good fun, there was nice music, great people and cheerful spirit :)

As soon as I get my hands on any pictures I will share them with you ;)

The good within Us..

4 02 2008

Nothing much exciting has been happening lately, however we have been very busy being good and doing good.
There was a saying that goes something like this:

“Doing the right thing, not just doing things right”

I am not completely sure how this applies to us, however I believe that everyone of us (human beings) has the ability to be able to be creative. So give it a go ;)

Back to what I was originally intending to share;
Since a few days we have been actively attempting to raise funds to support the Foundation for Orphaned children. They help kids in slums and provide them with basic facilities. Betty and Stephany made cakes which we then tried to sell.
Our commitment has so far raised more than £60,- Tomorrow Rotaract (of which we are members) is organising a Pub Quiz to raise more money.

I will share more about the Pub Quiz and how it went right after it has occurred :)

Till then ‘Doei’

A tiny tour..

28 10 2007

Hi Readers,

Today I will attempt to show you around and share things we encounter.

First of all, the excellent sight you have from our flat.
The complete complex is filled with RGU Students and its quite fun to live here.
We are quite lucky as we have the recently upgraded flats.

Picture stolen from Stephany’s profile :) This is a picture of the Aberdeen Business School a.k.a. ABS. This is one out of three buildings. As the name suggests all the Business related courses are delivered in this building. The library is also located in this building.

This is RGU Union. This is where all the RGU Students hang out. It is actually pretty cool, there are loads of screens, pool tables and sofa’s :) And for those interested, cheap booze is also available ;) It is usaly a good place to start a night out and we also tend to go down there when we are bored.

So last but not least, the RGU Mascot! He looks totally cool and brutal :)

Sadly enough, this is the end of the tiny tour.. :)

I will post more soon :)

The horrible life we are experiencing..

21 09 2007

It is unbelievable how hard we have to work down here in Aberdeen.
We are not even having some proper rest :P

This time we went in the direction of the Beach. There is this fun boulevard we were heading for.
RGU had booked this place for its students and we you could play mini-golf, go for bowling, do a game of pool or just have some food.

Well unfortunately Betty got slightly ill, so this time the crew was downsized to four members. Which is a great if you are doing a drive-by or anything else for that matter :)

Of course no post is complete without a few pictures pasted in them :P

Just arrived at the fun Boulevard

Stephany and Amrit posing in front of the mini-golf course

After playing mini golf, of which I still don’t know who won, we went to Bowling,
By the way, Greg and I did win a voucher for a free game next time! :P Sweet Iniiiiitttt :)

We also had a game of bowling.. :)
Greg looks happy for one particular reason… guess what … He won! :P
He likes to show off by holding his bowls :P

To finish the great afternoon, we had this amazing pizza at the beach side with a great view on the calm sea..
Telling you that it was Pizza hut does kind off ruin exclusiveness, anyway it was Pizza Hut :)

What we did that evening, I can’t recall right away… But give me some time, i’ll come back to that :)

 Take care

Lets do some sports…

20 09 2007

Heyy People!

I am sorry for the delayed posts… I am having a hard time keeping you posted on a daily basis..
But no for reason for complaining right? :)

So on Thursday RGU organized a few activities we could participate in. It started at 2pm, however we did not show up before… hmmm 3pm? Anyway, it still looked like fun. There was an air castle, a ‘place-the-ball-as-far-as-you-can’ game, a sumo wrestling kit and some dudes enjoying football.

We skipped out on most of the activities, however we did participate in the ‘place-the-ball-as-far-as-you-can’ game,
Me competing against Greg turned out to be a disaster, it was a race you could place bets on and win guaranteed :D
However the race between Stephany and Amrit turned out to be a bit more exciting, at least from the side we were standing on :P

Me vs Greg…  pfff.. is there really a need for a comment :P

Stephany vs Amrit… Good stuff ladies :D

Naturally when Amrit is around, there is one activity that we always perform…
Taking loads of pictures! :D
In the picture below, we made sure Stephany’s shoes received some extra attention :P

Stephany did not even have the opportunity to tie her shoes up :)

And ofcourse the three ladies in the house, completing the photo session of that afternoon :)

Luckily we didn’t do the sumo wrestling, I would have gotten my ass kicked out of the ring.
There was actually a RGU Mascot, I just do not posses any pictures of this special creature,
However I am sure I can get a picture if I consult head of the photography department ;)

I’ll keep you posted!
See you later!
