Credit Crunch…!

11 10 2008

Anyone interested in business or even reading general news should be aware of the international credit crunch. It has been a sad month for many traders; a funny coverage by this blog

Well as students we are always in a credit crunch :P High spending – Low income! Nothing to be proud of, but hey let just say its part of the experience ;) In a way its better that the credit crunch took place now.. otherwise the older generation would blame us if it took place any later…

UK is always been more expensive for mainland Europe (or any other place for that sake) I would say our spending is rather ‘controlled’ Currently the spending ranges from: food and drink, to bus and books. Greg got himself in a private ’sub-prime’ situation :D Great numbers were mentioned, however due to confidentiality grounds I will not mention them :P However it can be said that Greg made large ‘donations’ to UK’s alcoholic industry :D While international banks are being saved by their governments, how will this scenario end for Greg…? Will the bigger authority have to step in…. Mr Flipse..? Exciting :P

Other strategy for Greg could be to copy some of the US Federal reserves tactics. Has anyone spotted this note already?

Will this be the next note?

Will this be the next note? 'Sir' Greg himself.. :)

Arrivederci! sayonara! auf wiedersehen!!

14 05 2008

Guess what!

We had our Final Examination yesterday :)

Although its a mixed event as:

1. You don’t really know what the results are going to be like
2. You are relieved from all the stress, pain and torture!!

So what do students do when they are finished with exams.. hmmm

  1. sleep like you have never slept before
  2. have a lot of food
  3. pay the toilets an extensive visit
  4. go back home..? Naaahhh
  5. They Party!! :P

But hey we are different in many very special ways ;)
That means we should do something unique..

However the should do is where we get stuck!
What do five hardworking and extremely decent students do after exams.. ;)

Do you have an answer? well feel free to leave a suggestion behind :D

And last but not least!
We are soon going back hooomeee!! :)

Torchers Parade

2 05 2008

Last week we were performing manual labor, proper manual labor as we had to build our own float for the torchers parade.

“The Torcher Parade is the Students’ Charities Campaign oldest event, and dating back to 1889 is in fact even older than the Campaign itself.

Since the early days of horse-drawn carts through the City Centre, the parade has grown to become the largest student torch-lit parade in Europe, attracting tens of thousands of spectators.”

So this was in the early morning… we started of at 7 am. We were allowed to collect junk ( cardboard, wood and other scrap) in order to decorate our float.

Our Float theme was…. Pirates!

Here you can see the unsinkable ship being build and it honestly was unsinkable ;)
It didnt look very exciting just yet though..

However that soon changed into something more attractive:

Overall, we had a great day building the float, we drove halfway through Aberdeen, which was good fun! :)
And we got to collect money for charities :)

Greg’s Suprise Birthday Party!

30 03 2008

It was Greg’s bday yesterday, we made him belief that we would celebrate his b-day in a Gentleman’s club, which he wouldn’t really enjoy :P He was stressing for more than two days about this unpleasant experience :D

What he didn’t know was that we had planned a party in Pearl Lounge for him :)
Thanks to Hans-Jan’s bribery skills, the bouncer at the gentleman’s club refused as entry. According to the story, some Chinese lads had rented off the club. After a short period of relief on Greg’s behalf we went to Pearl Lounge in order to come back after two hours ;)

Here Amrit, Betty & Stephany had made sure that all the guests had hidden themselves.
Greg did not have a clue what was waiting for him :P
He was flabbergasted when he saw all this people there for him!

It was an excellent party and a great success! We had a great time and partied all night..!

The next morning was really bad as we had to depart to NL.
I can confirm we actually made it to NL :)

We will enjoy NL until the 7th of April; then we head back to Aberdeen.

A picture of the lads at Greg’s Birthday party, Thanks to Charlotte :)
