First day of Proper Education

25 09 2007

After months and months of no school, we finally started university today! Yayy! :)
All of us woke up on time to get ready on time in order to avoid coming late on on our first day.
At zero nine hundred hours we left the house (well almost ;) , we were planning to :P )
And we couldn’t be more lucky, because the bus showed up immediately after arriving at the bus station.

Once arriving at the Uni, we came across the problem that most students encounter…
First decoding your class room on your schedule, then actually trying to find the class room mentioned on your schedule.
We actually skipped the hassle and asked the receptionist to tell us where the room was located,
Our intellectual minds helped us save up some time so we had the opportunity to chill out and wake up at the Uni’s restaurant.

In total we received two lectures today, Event Management and Organisational Marketing.
It was an introduction to both of the modules and we had a glimpse of our course material.

The afternoon was basically spare time, we used this time to get our bank accounts arranged,
However we still lack some key documents, (hang on with those donations! :P )

In UK everyone that views programs on his or her tele has to buy a license in order to legally watch television.
It is quite stupid, but we all agreed upon the fact that we do not want to leave with a 1000 pound fine or/and a criminal record… so off we went and payed 135 pounds for a TV license, well there is one comfort, the license is not pink …

After that we went off to our royal residence in which meals were prepared to feed the mass.
To finish the day, Greg and I went off to the Student Union and the girls did something as well… I am sure..

Bank Holiday… NOOO!!

24 09 2007

Gregor was chatting with me on MSN this morning (yes I do know we live only 3 meters away now!)
and he proposed; “Man, Let’s get things done today, we open a bank account today” But Greg did not do his homework, because it is Bank Holiday in UK…

But no worries, keep those donations on hold, we will provide you with the bank account numbers ASAP! :)

So today.. WE RELAX!

The horrible life we are experiencing..

21 09 2007

It is unbelievable how hard we have to work down here in Aberdeen.
We are not even having some proper rest :P

This time we went in the direction of the Beach. There is this fun boulevard we were heading for.
RGU had booked this place for its students and we you could play mini-golf, go for bowling, do a game of pool or just have some food.

Well unfortunately Betty got slightly ill, so this time the crew was downsized to four members. Which is a great if you are doing a drive-by or anything else for that matter :)

Of course no post is complete without a few pictures pasted in them :P

Just arrived at the fun Boulevard

Stephany and Amrit posing in front of the mini-golf course

After playing mini golf, of which I still don’t know who won, we went to Bowling,
By the way, Greg and I did win a voucher for a free game next time! :P Sweet Iniiiiitttt :)

We also had a game of bowling.. :)
Greg looks happy for one particular reason… guess what … He won! :P
He likes to show off by holding his bowls :P

To finish the great afternoon, we had this amazing pizza at the beach side with a great view on the calm sea..
Telling you that it was Pizza hut does kind off ruin exclusiveness, anyway it was Pizza Hut :)

What we did that evening, I can’t recall right away… But give me some time, i’ll come back to that :)

 Take care

Lets do some sports…

20 09 2007

Heyy People!

I am sorry for the delayed posts… I am having a hard time keeping you posted on a daily basis..
But no for reason for complaining right? :)

So on Thursday RGU organized a few activities we could participate in. It started at 2pm, however we did not show up before… hmmm 3pm? Anyway, it still looked like fun. There was an air castle, a ‘place-the-ball-as-far-as-you-can’ game, a sumo wrestling kit and some dudes enjoying football.

We skipped out on most of the activities, however we did participate in the ‘place-the-ball-as-far-as-you-can’ game,
Me competing against Greg turned out to be a disaster, it was a race you could place bets on and win guaranteed :D
However the race between Stephany and Amrit turned out to be a bit more exciting, at least from the side we were standing on :P

Me vs Greg…  pfff.. is there really a need for a comment :P

Stephany vs Amrit… Good stuff ladies :D

Naturally when Amrit is around, there is one activity that we always perform…
Taking loads of pictures! :D
In the picture below, we made sure Stephany’s shoes received some extra attention :P

Stephany did not even have the opportunity to tie her shoes up :)

And ofcourse the three ladies in the house, completing the photo session of that afternoon :)

Luckily we didn’t do the sumo wrestling, I would have gotten my ass kicked out of the ring.
There was actually a RGU Mascot, I just do not posses any pictures of this special creature,
However I am sure I can get a picture if I consult head of the photography department ;)

I’ll keep you posted!
See you later!

Leisure Activities!

19 09 2007

The past few days have passed by in a rapid speed …
The RGU Union has been organizing many fest to make everyone feel comfortable and enjoy their new types of lives.

RGU Freshers

The freshers week consists out of many gatherings, parties and more parties.
The last one we visited carried the theme; Beach Party.
Although most us of did not have to courage or the dedication to head out on streets wearing no more than our swimwear,
most students in Aberdeen couldn’t bother less.

Once arrived at the Union, people had really put the effort into this. I have posted some pictures to show you the extend:

This dude really outdid himself.. :)

However the night did not end at RGU Union, everyone just got started and we decided to go with the flow and ended up at three different places that night. Luckily everything is on a very short distance. We spended most of our night at the Pearl.

We had fun, once we got home everyone almost straight away went for his or her bed ;)
